Vincent D’Avena, owner of A.V. Remodeling & Construction, has been selected by Remodeling magazine to join the Remodeling Big 50.
Each year since 1986, the Remodeling Big 50 inducts 50 owners of remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship, and impact in their community or the industry at large. Big 50 remodelers run successful, often growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards.




For the second year in a row, A.V. Remodeling is part of the Qualified Remodeler "TOP 500 REMODELERS." The Top 500 is a CPA-audited analysis of the financial performance of remodeling firms throughout the United States, compiled by Qualified Remodeler magazine, a leading trade publication in the remodeling industry.

A.V. Remodeling & Construction, a local design-build company is a registered EPA Lead-Safe Firm. A.V. Remodeling has received certification issued on April 22, 2010, to conduct lead-based paint renovation; repair and painting activities in homes built pre-1978. In addition, Vincent D'Avena, Owner, has completed the EPA's Certified Renovators training for lead-safe work practices.



We are a member of Remodelers Advantage which offers peer-group idea and information exchange from national and local experts. We have access to the latest systems and practices in the remodeling industry and through us, our clients have access to the most down-to-earth systematic approaches to design/build remodeling.

Our company belongs to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). USGBC is a non-profit organization composed of industry leaders who work, as we do, to promote environmentally responsible building for healthy places to live and work.

We are a proud member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). As a member of NARI, we associate with our peers in the remodeling profession.  Membership in NARI requires that we adhere to a strict code of ethics and professionalism. In 2011, we were recognized by NARI with two prestigious CotY (Contractor of the Year) awards by the Metro DC Chapter:
- A Merit Award for an entire house renovation that included a new basement under an existing home, kitchen and attic remodel in the "Entire House--$250,000 to $500,000" category
- A Merit Award for an exterior renovation for the deck and screened in porch in the "Residential Exterior - $100,000 and over" category

In 2009, we were proud to be recognized by NARI with two prestigious COTY (Contractor of the Year) Award. Our firm was recognized in the “Entire House-$250,000 to $500,000” category with:
- An Honorable Mention for a Historic Renovation and Addition that included an entire house remodel, installing a new basement under an existing home, and a new garage
- A Finalist Award for a Historic Renovation that also included an entire house remodel, a new garage, and a new basement under an old home

In 2008, we received an Honorable Mention COTY in the “Residential Addition $250,000 to $500,000” category.
